NaNoWriMo: touchdown!!

I'm a little bit word-ed out, so I hope you'll forgive me that I'm not producing an entire, coherent post today. But I did want to say:

Hurray, I did it!

I wrote 50,000 words in 29 days!

Now, honestly, I'm not sure how many of them will survive the brutal editing session that December will bring, but still:

50,000 words!

I'm feeling very proud of myself and very much a winner this afternoon.

And now I'm going to grab the book I haven't been able to spend much time reading this month (The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton), make myself a cup of tea and curl up under a blanket.

Who knows: I might even take a nap!

I think I might just have earned one.

Hurray!
