Country Mouse Monday: on holiday, writing cards

At the start of a three-day break from work, here I am at my desk bright and early Monday morning catching up on correspondence.
A paper card is such a nice Thank You, I think, vastly superior to an email.
And it's one of those little tasks that, once completed, makes me feel so much better about myself, like I'm staying on top of the details that matter, cultivating relationships old-school, and actually using the stock of cute cards I've amassed.
For the next three days, I have a few plans, mostly yummy dinners out every single night. What I am most looking forward to, though, is long stretches of unstructured time in which to finish my 2014 Planning, take care of a few small home-office projects, and, BONUS,
spend hours on my ass reading.
I might get outside for some much-needed garden clean-up, but I might just sit by the window and watch finches in the birdbath.
And read and be quiet and enjoy taking some time to myself.
It's going to be a great, busy, full year, I think, so now feels like absolutely the right time to just sit still and do less busy-work, more thinking, make time for the tasks that always make me feel good, like handwriting little notes to my family and friends, expressing so much gratitude for the many blessings of this perfect life.
