Happy is my home state

Truth is: when I am most myself, I'm jumping around.

I'm happy. Can't help it.

I should remember that anytime I lose my wiggle, my bounce, that something -- something outside of me -- is wrong. Some circumstance -- it ain't me -- is harshing my natural buzz.

Happy is my home state.

And so this morning, on my birthday, on the middle-day in a short break from work, I remember everything.

With a little help from my family and friends, I get my wiggle back, my clapping, and I remember, oh yeah, this is how it really feels to be me.

This is what Happy feels like.

I don't mean that every day I need to pretend to be sleeping in so that my husband can pretend to wake me up, singing Happy Birthday and bringing me a present to open in bed.

I don't mean that every day, I need all these amazing funny sweet loving well wishes from friends, or lunch with my bestest girlfriends, or a facial, or another delicious dinner out.

I don't mean that every day, I need to sit here in my beautiful office, fresh flowers on my desk, watching Pharrell's 24 Hours of Happy, Mr Burns sleeping on The Big Chair behind me, birds and squirrels at their busy in the garden.

Don't get me wrong -- all of that every day would be awesome. But it's easier than that.

I just need to remember to come back to where I belong, back to Happy, my home state.

If you're not feeling it yet, if somehow you've wandered away across the border from where you really live, check this out and see if it doesn't bring you and your wiggle right back. Home. Happy.

Love this song, and a wonderful message too, it's wonderful to hear of people who've found some harmony in their life!
