self-employed dream-life: #workfromanywhere

I arrived in Paris this morning for a week-long stay, in a test of my new self-employed-ness.

Originally, the impetus was that I wanted to participate in the first-ever yoga event at Versailles on 9/21. But now it's something more.

I'm working from Paris for the next week because I can.

How can it be that a mere 7 months ago I was basically chained to a particular physical desk from 9-5 daily, 5 days a week?

And now I'm here, working alongside my peoples, to the soundtrack of Paris street sounds.

Besides the Versailles event on Sunday, my sister has mapped out a brilliant week-long urban yoga retreat for us, with 5 other classes to attend around our normal schedule of working from her place and eating well.

This is a dream-life, this self-employment.

I just want to pinch myself sometimes, stunned at how great this is. Other times -- ok, ALL the time -- I just want to jump around like Tracy Flick.

And then jump some more.

I admit that today I'm not the most productive worker -- being awake for going-on 28 hours now is not a recipe for genius, at least not for me. But that'll change tomorrow, and the next day, and so on.

Here's to freedom. Here's to independence. Here's to #workfromanywhere!

Jump around!

Do a special survey on the problem of the staff. The stupid manager will fire the whole staff and appoint the new ones, but the ethical behaves tells a manager to give them classes about the use of new technology.
