NaNoWriBloPoMo: in other words, #writeeverydamnday

All of this month, I am participating in two writing projects -- NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month), writing in company with thousands of others, devotedly, consistently, with this hashtag as my mantra:

#writeeverydamnday

I'm relying on some great tools:

- the Lift app (image at left), which I adore and which has just launched new Coaching plans, including one for NaNoWriMo. It provides daily reminders, along with the not-to-be-underestimated satisfaction of clicking the checkmark when I've hit my daily goal and sending props to others when they get their daily words done. I'm such a fan!

and

- Scrivener, a content-generation tool for writers by Literature & Latte, provided free (for 30 days) to NaNoWriMo participants.  Scrivener is so going to help me organize my work into coherent book-form. Really grateful!

Because seriously? I need the daily encouragement and all the bells and whistles to keep going.

Normally I maintain a pretty disciplined practice -- I get up early, I get some words down, but it's not 7 days a week of writing or 7 days a week of posting. This whole NaNoWriBloPoMo is a whole other order of magnitude.

For which sparkly gold stars, lots of 'em, are required!

As usual, I'm doing this NaNoWriMo a little my own way. I'm not a fiction writer (yet, that I know of), so I'm using the Na...Mo to generate 50,000 non-fiction words toward something or other. It's the process, yo.

This is so much fun. OK, it's work, but work of the best kind, with cool tools and lots of friends coming along for the ride. I'll share excerpts along the way, so you can come, too. Stay tuned!
